Off-Campus Conduct

Why does TCNJ care what I do off campus?

TCNJ students, whether or not they live on campus, can still negatively affect the College by their actions off campus. The College’s reputation and its relationship with their community partners and neighbors can be damaged by inappropriate behavior. The College therefore withholds the right to take appropriate action and hold individuals accountable for events that occur off campus. Additionally, such actions can be symptomatic or causally linked to decreased academic achievement, and it is the College’s mission to address behaviors that curtail success.

Common Off-Campus Issues

  • Excessive noise
  • Property maintenance issues
  • Roommate concerns
  • Complaints from neighbors
  • Tenant/landlord issues
  • Minor violations of local laws or ordinances
